Hiring! HP Openview Systems Engineer for great 6 month contract With a well respected Industry Leader in Phoenix, Az.
Description: This position is for day-to-day operational support and maintenance of toolsets. Install, configure, maintain HP OpenView Operations for Windows, Network Node Manager, SiteScope and Performance Manager.
- Design and code custom monitors for Windows and Unix platforms
- Design and implement notification strategies including filtering, correlation, exception handling, and maintenance activities.
- Build monitoring solutions for Oracle, MSSQL, WebSphere, MQ, Exchange, mainframe and custom applications.
- Contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of Systems Management solutions, infrastructure and related software and hardware components.
- Works in a collaborative team environment with a professional, business–focused attitude and courteous manner towards clients, partners and peers.
- Maintains system integrity and availability for the user community.
- Provides operational team support structure with rotational 7x24 support and incident ticket management.
- Works with vendors to provide upper level support of products Requirements
- Experience HP tool suites preferred (HP OpenView Operations, HP Network Node Manager) or IBM Tivoli Monitoring, BMC Patrol, CA Unicenter Experience with application monitoring using synthetic transactions, probes, application instrumentation.
- Experience integrating HP OpenView Operations, Network Node Manager and AlarmPoint.
- Experience creating installation packages using Winzip self extractor or similar products, or for SMS delivery.
- Experience integrating systems management solutions to CMDB/CCMDB
- 4+ years experience with systems management tool suites and technologies
- 2+ years analysis, design and development experience or equivalent education
- Professional experience in two or more of the following technology areas:
- Enterprise Systems Management Solutions
- Network, Database, Server OS (Windows/Unix)
- Programming, scripting and automation methods
- Integration of multiple commercial-off-the-shelf toolsets
- Must be proficient in Windows and UNIX OS product internals, advanced debugging, software integration
- Experience with SNMP trap creation and handling.
- Experience with monitoring of middleware and database solutions such as Oracle, MSSQL, WebSphere, MQ.
- Good understanding of enterprise server security technologies, networking & security protocols, authentication schemes and technologies, operating systems, Active Directory.
- Experience with Perl, VB, batch and Unix shell scripting.
- Excellent communication, customer service, people skills.
- Proven implementation and troubleshooting ability utilizing multiple technologies (network, server, database).
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meet project deadlines, and work under pressure.
